Goodbye to Gleaners Fernvale

After nine years of ministry through Gleaners into Fernvale and surrounding districts, FCC will conclude this ministry on 16th April. During these years we have literally ministered to hundreds of people. We have had an amazing volunteer team as well, many from the community. We will be having a sale of goods over the next 2 Fridays concluding at 11.00am Friday 16th April.

We continually seek God's leading as to what FCC should be doing. We believe God has clearly confirmed that we are to close down Gleaners and so we have informed our volunteers and those from the church who assist in that ministry. They have all confirmed that decision.

Gleaners fellowship will still continue with outlets at Goodna, Booval and Leichhardt. Some of our people will still continue on the Gleaners management Committee at least until the next Gleaners AGM.

As a church we have a responsibility to hand the Gleaners house back to the owners in a clean & tidy condition. It is anticipated that we will have a working-bee on Sat 17th April to return equipment to Gleaners and to clean the property, including the yard. Your assistance is welcomed and encouraged.

Saturday morning prayer meetings will continue at Gleaners up to and including Saturday 24th at 7.30am. The future Prayer Meeting venue will be announced by 24th April.

We will continue to minister to the community through our CAP Money budgeting courses. As someone once wisely said, "It is more important to teach a person to fish, than to give him a fish." CAP Money teaches people how to handle their money so that they can have the necessities. Also we will continue with ministry to Fernvale Homestead, KidsHope mentoring ministry into Fernvale State School and our youth and children's ministry as well as FCC being a church who ministers Christ's love and salvation as we go about our daily lives.

God called us to start afresh towards the end of 2009. I believe this is the continued transition towards us doing church as God wants for the future. The ministry of Gleaners was valid for the season in which it operated in Fernvale. Now it is a new season in God!
